Optic Nerve Meeting 2023

12-14 December 2023 - Obergurgl, Austria

Deadline for abstract  submission: 30.10.2023

Welcome

This conference will explore the current state of our understanding of research related to vision regeneration. Topics will identify the crucial challenges and promising future research directions for boosting visual function in optic nerve disease.

To stimulate ideas and discussion, leading experts from a variety of fields will emphasize a cross-sectional, interdisciplinary approach. Speakers will discuss related topics including nerve repair, stem cells, nerve regeneration and neuroplasticity.

The conference will bring together clinicians and basic scientists from different fields and will highlight translational research providing a platform for networking and stimulating discussions, which are a highlight of the meeting. Including:

  • What can we learn from the last decade and from other areas?
  • How can we accelerate progress in the application of results from basic science into diagnosis, follow-up, treatment and clinical trials in neurodegenerative diseases such as glaucoma?
  • How can promising scientific results translate successfully into clinical applications?

Target audience

The meeting will bring together basic scientists, clinicians and translational researchers interested in the optic nerve and glaucoma as well as experts from interdisciplinary areas such as neurology, neurodegenerations and autoimmunity. We are aiming for a small interactive meeting with between 50 to 70 delegates.
